Aircraft Certification Analyst III


Reporting to the Aircraft Certification Manager and works in conjunction with Program Management will be responsible for leading certification activities in execution of programs on Military and Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA). The certification analyst is responsible for managing simultaneous projects with the ODA and/or military airworthiness authorities, and develops certification basis and plans to support Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) or military type certifications. This position requires experience with all engineering levels, program management, customer and vendors, as required during early phase through completion.


Lead certification activities to interpret customer requirements and determine the certification basis for the development of an airworthiness certification plan

Serve as the liaison with FAA and/or Military Certification Authority in STC and military certification projects to coordinate, negotiate, resolve conflicts, plan, and schedule certification activities

Coordination of certification activities associated to testing being performed to demonstrate compliance

Interface with SNC Engineering, Program Management, Quality and Production departments, as required

Liaison with the customer and military airworthiness authority to coordinate, negotiate, and resolve conflicts, as required

Manage subject matter expert data submittals ensuring that all technical data to show compliance is reviewed and approved and/or accepted

Ensure compliance with applicable requirements (14 CFR Part 25 and/or MIL-HDBK-516C)

Review engineering substantiation documents, flight/ground/lab test plans and reports, and other engineering artifacts for accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations

Assists subject matter experts, and/or SNC Engineering in support of lab, ground, or flight test activity, as required

Ability to multi-task on developing and sustaining programs, as needed

Other responsibilities may include proposal and new business development support


Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, and Compliance regulations (internal and external)

  • Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams
  • Experience in Military Type Certification, and/or Supplemental Type Certification
  • Previous experience with working MIL-HDBK-516 is a must, and 14 CFR Part 23 or 25 is desired
  • BS/BA minimum in an engineering/technical discipline, relevant work experience may substitute for education
  • A minimum of 6 years experience in Aircraft Certification is required
  • Experience certifying modifications on large transport category aircraft desired. Commercial Derivative Aircraft project experience a plus.
  • Experience working government contracts is desired

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U. S. Security Clearance. U. S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs to obtain U. S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
