POSITION SUMMARY The Medical Billing Manager is responsible for managing the billing process of medical practices and ensuring timely and accurate payments are received.
This includes building and maintaining relationships with third party payers, managing payment application, analyzing and developing solutions to increase cash flow and reduce costs, supervising staff like billers, coders and customer service personnel, maintaining compliance with insurance regulations, tracking financial metrics related to billing success and developing tracking systems to monitor patient accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the billing and invoicing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Develop and implement billing policies and procedures in line with company and industry standards.
Analyze billing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payments.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with clients and vendors to ensure efficient billing processes.
Lead and manage a team of billing specialists, providing guidance and support.
Manage the month-end billing close process and ensure timely completion of all billing activities.
Prepare and present financial reports and analytics to senior management and clients on a regular basis.
Continuously evaluate and improve billing processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure that all billing-related documentation is complete and accurate, and that all financial transactions are properly recorded.
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.

years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a managerial role.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and issues.
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in medical billing software and other accounting software.
Knowledge of medical terminology and coding, including ICD-10 and CPT codes.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
